SaveTheWorldorElse.org ..?

Hey,
Ok.. So I started blogging about a week ago. It’s about different issues and events, things you can do right now to try and better the world, and petitions readers can send that are posted by non-profit organizations.
I was just wondering if you think that it has some lasting power or do you think that I am wasting my time?
Do you think I will be able to make a small difference?
Also, any advice for me?

Thanks,
Kady

Your site is very well done. You will need professional connections, a plan and a dedication to the plan’s implementation if you want to make it significant. I would recommend also filing as a non-profit corporation and creating a charter. Find like-minded people interested in this cause and give them ownership of various facets of the organization.

Also, lay off of the political stuff as you will appear to be a front group for liberals. Keep your focus and your site benevolent and as neutral as possible.

Lastly, I take a small issue with one of the suggestions on your site. You want large-scale environmental changes but you are seemingly against big business or people with real money. This is naive, as it is the dreaded wealthy corporations driven by the market that will deliver the big changes you seek. I would continue directing my energy at education but also at finding ways to interest rich corporations in environmental causes, not belittle them. Going after legislators to regulate companies is a very slow and painful process. let’s all get on board on the front end.

The name stops me cold, sorry. But no, you’re not wasting your time. You just started too fast out of the gate, or were trying to use a name you thought would garner attention.

It’s a crowded playing field, so you’ll need to distinguish yourself from the pack somehow.

I like organizations that empower me through education and activity. That’s how I got into restoration, and in 4 years I’ve learned a ton.

Good luck to you.
