Wanted to know the scope of Search engine marketing in India?

I have been working in the ad sales department of a online firm in mumbai. Somehow i am interested in getting into search marketing. What is the scope of this industry in India and is it a worthwhile shift ?

I have recently started a blog design site, and I am not sure how to let people know it’s there. Is there some kind of site specifically for this type of advertising or should I just pay to advertise on other blogs?

Also, is there something I could do to get my site to come up if some one searches for ‘blog design’ in google or yahoo?
