How do I make a blog badge that other people can put on their sites for advertising?

I want to make a badge that would act as a link that people could embed on their pages. Any other free form of blog advertisement would be appreciated as well….I’m not a computer wizard, so I would be grateful for dumbed-down explanations haha

Use any good graphics editor to make your blog image:

FREE software (No Animation):

http://www.getpaint.net/ (Very user friendly)
http://www.inkscape.org/download/ (Very good for vectored graphics)

http://www.download.com/PhotoScape/3000-2192_4-10703122.html?tag=mncol

http://www.online-image-editor.com/

FREE online photo editors:

http://www.blibs.com/editor/ (Animation Tools)
https://www.photoshop.com/express/landing.html (PhotoShop’s Own Online Editor)

http://www.onlineimageeditor.info/

http://www.splashup.com/

http://www.photofunia.com/

http://fotoflexer.com/

Then:

Making an image a link:

<p><a href="URL path to external link" title="Mouseover Description"><img style="width: XXpx; height: YYpx; border: 0;" src="Path to image" alt="Text Description"></a></p>

Text Link only:

<p><a href="URL path to external link" title="Mouseover Description">Link Text Description</a></p>

You can change the "p" tags to div tags and style as needed to make a nice div container for image links.

Some time ago I talked about a purchase of Morgan Stanley (MS) as an investment purchase for my own accounts.

Now I’m thinking of taking profits.

Note: This is not an investment or trading recommendation. The losses in trading can be very real, and depending on the investment vehicle, can exceed your initial investment. Is Search Marketing and the Search Engine the same things?

Is Yahoo! Search Marketing and the Search Engine one in the same things? And what is Sponsored Search?

Kaloni

SEO & SEM, yes it is the same thing… sponsored search is, like some ads, for example, if you do some search on search engine with some keyword, the first listed search is the sponsored search because the site owner pays to get listed on the first search.

Financial Projections? Any advice how to write them from scratch?

I’m writing a business plan, and part of it, of course, are the financials.

Specifically, I’m looking to find out where I can find financial ratios, web traffic forecasts, and other industry standards for blogging ‘companies’ or other e-commerce sites that deal almost exclusively with the free information arena, like, uh, blogs.

I mean how do you calculate profit from the event of getting most of your revenue from advertisers?

Is there a website that will show me financial ratios for these kinds of companies or websites themselves? for free?

You are in one of the ‘fun parts’ of building a financial plan here. Tough one.

Each industry varies. You probably already have the projection for the firs financial year down based on present numbers.

Do some research. I included a site that MAY help you. Some industries have a higher growth rate than others. Downside factors like inflation and depreciation of currency and assets, couple of things to consider.

Profit is calculated simply : Gross earnings – cost = P

In your case, you will have to determine what your rate is going to be for advertisers. You are not going to charge a client the same rate for a period of 5 years are you? The income from an advertiser will be in proportion of your running costs.

If my site [example, but I had my own IT company one] costs me to run $6000 per year and my advertising space is booked at $12000 per year, well next year my projection shows that costs may rise $500 for the year where my advertisers are concerned so adjust it in the same ratio.

Check out the site. Hope it helps a bit. You do have some reading to do there so best of luck!

f I Blog About My Life With The Intention Of Making Money, Can I write Off Everything As A Business Expense?

If I start blogging about my life with the intent on making a profit, can I write off things like rent, food, gasoline and vacations off as business expenses?

It depends on

1) Exactly what you’re writing (topics). Will it be useful information that people WANT to read? And will it contain key words that the search engines will rank highly?

2) Your writing style. Is it entertaining enough so that people will want to come back and read more?

3) Where your blog is being hosted (if you’re on a blogging site, then most of your ads will be about blogs and not related to your content, and so you’ll get fewer clicks and less money).

3) And exactly HOW you intend to earn money. For example, if you want to register yourself with Google AdSense, or use affiliate programs like Amazon (recommending books for further reading is always good), then you’re really going to NEED your own domain name to get approved for these programs. The good news is that it’s not that expensive… you can register JUST the domain name for under $11 a year, and use free hosting until your blog gets busy enough to justify signing up with a hosting plan.

If you’re not into the technical side of things, I’ve just recently created a step-by-step tutorial on how to get a WordPress blog installed and running on a completely free web host, with no advertisements (except your own, of course). Log in as a guest to have a peek…

How do I get advertising on my (blogger) blog?

it’s a spiritual blog about Zoroastrianism so I’m looking for holistic therapy, meditation, herbalist, aromatherapy, candle makers, insence makers, scented oil makers etc…
I want companies to advertise on my blog, and they will pay me for it

You can get advertisement by going to signing up at http://www.Amazon.com, http://www.google.com/adsense. Get your code for your blog and you can start advertising ads for your desired field. If I were you I would check out Liz Tomey’s site – http://www.AdsenseGirl.com. She rocks and the best part is, the product on her site is FREE and she’ll teach you how to make the most of adsense and making money with it on your blogger, for your chosen target group.

Hope this helps. But, please, seriously, check Liz Tomey’s site out. She rocks!

Here you register and get the links of the adverts and you can even choose what type of adverts you want to post in your web or blog. Then in your blog or web you paste it and you get your free online advertising.. Take care and good luck..!

Which is the best Search Engine Marketing (SEM) blog?

I’ve found some interesting blogs like SEOmoz, Jonathan Mendez, shoemoney, searchenginejournal, martinez, Avinash Kaushish etc, but am finding it difficult to follow so many. Any expert opinions out there on which are the best blogs in this field? Can be abt SEO or PPC. Thanks!

In my opinion SEOmoz indeed is a great SEM. If you’re using SEM blogs to find answers on your questions, my advice is to sign-up at a forum with SEO experts so you can ask your questions directly instead of browsing articles. If you’re just reading blogs to discover new information then ignore the previous advice. If you’re interested in SEO expert advise, you might enjoy a visit to my new Webmaster / SEO Forum. You’re able to post questions there and receive advice from SEO experts. My forum is listed in the source list.

How can I make money blogging? I have lots to say, and also need some extra cash.?

I have researched this a little bit, but still not sure how to get started. Straight forward answers from experienced bloggers would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!!

How to make money from your blog: 5 tips

By Jeff Wuorio
Many of the people who write blogs today simply want to share their opinion on something. But then there are the business-minded folks, who have found a way to use blogs, or Web logs, to bring in a little extra cash too.

I recently wrote a column detailing how to get a blog up and running to boost your small business.

If you’re interested in taking it further — blogging for bucks, if you will — here are five strategies that could turn your blog into a moneymaker.

1. Sell advertising. This is likely the most common means of leveraging a blog to generate income. If yours happens to become a well-known blog, or one that is well-received in a particular niche, it’s always possible to sell ad space on your own. For lesser-known blogs, services such as Google’s AdSense or BlogAds enable bloggers to establish ad programs.AdSense’s — which lets you select several ads that are consistent with the content of your blog — pays you based on how many readers click on the ads for further information. Even better, it’s free. BlogAds, on the other hand, hooks bloggers up with would-be advertisers and levies a commission in return for any ad placements that result. "The nice thing, too, is that the ads are relatively unobtrusive," says Scott Allen, co-author of "The Virtual Handshake: Opening Doors and Closing Deals Online."

2. Help sell others’ products. Here is another click-through opportunity. Affiliate programs enable your blog to serve as a conduit between readers and online sites offering various goods and services. One popular choice is Amazon.com. If, for instance, you offer book reviews or even just mention a book in passing in your blog, an affiliate program provides a means for your readers to click directly from your blog to Amazon to obtain further information about the book. If they break out the checkbook or charge card, you get paid as well.

3. Solicit contributions. Not every blog-related income opportunity involves hawking goods or services. As Blanche DuBois did in "A Streetcar Named Desire," consider relying on the kindness of strangers. Ask for contributions. If, for instance, your small-business blog supports a cause or issue in some fashion — say you repeatedly mention tax reform, health care or some other topic — you can always ask for reader support.Even if you’ve attracted a group of regular followers who simply enjoy reading what you have to say, they may be willing to underwrite their loyalty with a little financial help.

Programs such as PayPal make it easy to establish a simple on-site contribution collection button. "There are lots of worthy ’cause’ blogs that would qualify for donations from grateful members of the blog community," says Las Vegas communications consultant Ned Barnett.

4. Market your services in your blog. Many people associate blogs exclusively with a cyberspace-based soapbox — a place to shout your opinions and little more than that. Granted, blogs are an ideal venue to share your thoughts with others, but don’t overlook their capacity to generate new business as well. When appropriate, work in references to what you do and, in turn, what you may be able to offer any would-be client or customer who may be reading your blog. That can spread your opinion and your business moxie at the same time."Instead of short commentaries that begin a dialogue with readers, as many blogs do, I write the equivalent of journal articles that demonstrate my abilities, strategies and perspectives on specific issues," Barnett says. "When it resonates, it means money. Since starting this approach, I have generated three new paying clients and brought in about $10,000 on revenue — directly attributable to specific blogs."

5. Use a blog to deepen your existing customer relations . Nor does any marketing material inserted in blog content have to be limited to bringing in completely new business. By using a blog to regularly communicate with existing clients as well as other readers, you can take advantage of the opportunity to fully inform them about everything your business does. That may expand your readers’ understanding of the full scope of your products or services."My blog has helped existing clients determine the range of my skills and services," says Ted Demopoulos of Demopoulos Associates, a Durham, N.H. consulting and training concern. "One client who had only used me for training in the past was surprised at my range of expertise and is now using me for a consulting project. Another who only used me on technical projects is now considering me for a more business-oriented project."

Good Luck:-)
